The Celebration Sequel

A birthday comes with surprises.
This surprise is for Anne, designer of Sofilantjes Patterns, to celebrate 3 years of great pattern designing.

Last Friday I showed you my Wardrobe Capsule for miss Miracle with some Elvelyckan Design fabrics. Today I'm showing you the sequel. The plan was to have a mini wardrobe capsule, but it turned out more of a matching outfit for miss Wonder

A week ago, Deborah, owner of my favourite webshop Cas&Nina, opened up her atelier to come sew for this Surprise Blog. It was a blast! Five motivated ladies, all day sewing Sofilantjes patterns, getting to know each other in real life, chatting and just having lots of fun. And at the end of the day having a festive drink to celebrate this anniversary of Sofilantjes.
Have a look at this blogpost by Cas&Nina to find out more about that day.

Now onto the garments I made!
First thing that day was this gorgeous Solis Dress with circle skirt.

When my girls were looking at the Elvelyckan Design fabrics online, miss Wonder fell in love with this strawberry design. Of course little sister wanted the same fabric, therefor I ordered 2 yards, so I could go crazy with the fabric.

This Solis Dress needs a circle skirt for miss Wonder. She's still all about dresses and skirts that twirl.
The back of the Solis Dress is stunning. But I say that about all the Sofilantjes' Summer Dresses... can you blame me?

Next pattern to hit the spotlights is the Gemini Fitted Skirt. Last friday I already showed two of these beauties for miss Miracle. Miss Wonder was supposed to get 2 skirts as well, but hey, sometimes plans are bigger then time allows you. So, for now, just the fitted Gemini skirt. The circle skirt will follow later on.

By the time I finished this skirt (and the cherry one for miss Miracle), it was time for a drink and goodbyes. So this secret project continued at home.
The Otium with the bow in the back was next. It was supposed to fit with the Gemini skirt, which is certainly the case. I'm sure it will fit with jeans or leggings as well. A lot of possibilities for sure!!!

After finishing the Otium I also made an Aura Bolero to fit these two outfits. If I were to start over I wouldn't do the colorblocking anymore. It was out of my comfortzone anyway, and seeing how it turned out, I would just go for the plain white Aura. I'm planning another Aura in mint. That'll be a uni-colored Aura for sure.

Believe it or not, but my little celebration for Anne isn't over yet! All of you who follow me, here on IG or on Facebook, know I really really really love all Sofilantjes Patterns.
I think I can say Anne has become my friend. It's not only her patterns that I appreciate, it's also the woman, the designer, the mother, the friend behind the patterns that I apreciate. So when Deborah invited me to join this surprise party I was more then happy to accept.

Last but not least, I made miss Wonder a Litore inspired top. It's the same hack I did for miss Miracle.
Unfortunately I don't have fit pictures. Life can throw pleasant surprises. The kids preferred a pool and a next door neighbor party with a self invented water slide over fitting pictures. Can't compete with that now can I?!

But this flat lay-out gives you an idea. Keep an eye on my IG or Facebook for modelled photo's. It will go very well with the mint colored Aura I plan on making and I hope to find time for a coördinating Gemini Circle Skirt for this top as well.
